What is gasherbrum v?

Gasherbrum V (also called Gasherbrum North) is a mountain peak located within the Karakoram range in Pakistan. It stands at an elevation of 7,147 meters (23,448 feet) and is the 11th highest peak in Pakistan. Gasherbrum V is a part of the Gasherbrum massif, which consists of six peaks, and is located just a few miles away from the more famous K2, the second-highest peak in the world.

Gasherbrum V was first climbed in 1996 by a Japanese expedition, which followed the northwest ridge to the summit. The northwest ridge remains the most commonly used route to climb Gasherbrum V. It is a technical climb that requires high-altitude mountaineering skills, and the climb is further complicated by the unpredictable weather patterns in the Karakoram range.

Gasherbrum V is a challenging peak to climb and has seen only a handful of successful ascents to date. However, the mountain attracts many experienced climbers who consider it a worthwhile climb. The climb offers stunning views of the Karakoram range, which is one of the most remote and scenic mountain ranges in the world.
